NEWBORN SHOOT
WHY CHOOSE A NEWBORN SHOOT?
The window to capture these beautiful newborn images is very small.
I will take all the time necessary to soothe and relax your baby, to get the best chance of achieving those sleepy timeless poses.
Extra time is also taken to feed baby as and when needed.
Please allow at least 3 hours for your photoshoot.
Babies don't generally like to be naked so it takes time and patience to get baby exactly where he/she is comfortable.
We will hope to achieve those special poses that require a little extra time as well as the wrapped cosy shots too.
WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH YOUR NEWBORN SHOOT?
Your package includes your photoshoot,
Im happy to include parent and sibling shots within your newborn shoot,
though I do suggest young siblings be brought into my studio near the end of the shoot if possible,
It can be quite boring for them to sit through the whole session.
You will be sent a link to a secure online gallery of at least 50 images but usually many more.
All digital images will be included within your newborn package price.
BEST TIME TO BOOK YOUR FULL NEWBORN SHOOT?
It is best to contact me as early as possible, while you are pregnant, to pencil in your due date. Ideally just after your 20 week scan as I do get booked up quickly. I will then book your expected delivery date into my diary,
(I will need your due date and a contact number at this point) that way I will have a rough idea of when to expect a call from you to say that your baby has arrived.
We can then book your firm appointment for your precious newborn pictures to be taken within the first few weeks after baby arrives. I will need a £50 deposit from you at this point to secure your booking that can be used towards your package.
WHY BOOK SO EARLY?
For the best chance of getting those lovely posed newborn sleepy curled up shots, ideally we need to book baby in within the first 2 weeks after baby arrives as they are at their most flexible. After then, they learn to stretch and become much more awake making it much more unlikely to achieve these beautiful shots of your little one.
WHAT HAPPENS ON THE DAY?
It helps to feed when you arrive so if baby is due, try and hold off feeding until you get to my studio if possible, That way we can undress and make him/her comfortable before feeding so as not to disturb them too much after their feed.
I aim to try and photograph baby sleepy so will use the time to settle baby if needed,
£150 will be due on the day of your photoshoot and the balance of £150 once your gallery is ready and has been viewed.
WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING WITH YOU?
I have pretty much everything we may want for baby i.e ; props, baskets, bowls, scarfs, hats, blankets headbands etc. A dummy/ soother is always helpful if baby has one. It can really help when I move baby from one position to the next to settle them, even if they don't really use one regularly.
It is also good for parents to wear layers that you can peel off as it needs to be really warm in my studio as baby needs to be comfortable which means the heating has to go up.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Once you photographs have been taken I will check and edit them. I will remove any scratches, spots, acne and marks on the skin.
I can also correct the skin if baby is jaundice.
I don't put a time limit on editing but generally manage to finish them and get them to you for viewing within a few weeks or so.
Your finished digital images are then added to a secure online gallery and you will be sent the link and password so you can view them in your own time in the comfort of your own space.
Once you have confirmed that you are happy with your gallery, your beautiful digital images will be available to download instantly,
ready for you to print and share with your family and friends.
